YOU CAN USE YOUR CAC WITH WINDOWS 8 (Developer & Consumer Preview)
|
|||||||
The CAC installation on Windows 8 is no different than it is for Windows 7, Vista, or XP, so please use the Installation steps on the left. You do have another option: If you have a PIV II compliant CAC [back shows: "Gemalto TOP DL GX4 144" (see sample below) or "Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5 Dual" at the top above the magnetic strip] and since you are running Windows 8, you may be able to use your CAC without the need of ActivClient. Windows 8 (Developer) uses Internet Explorer 10. The same problems we have with IE 9 have crossed over to IE 10 in regards to problems with Government websites. Follow this guide to remedy some of them.
